Were gonna find out what is Baptism all about, and why it is important?

Messianic's & Christians who say they believe in Yeshua  (Jesus) should follow His example, and be Baptized.
Baptism is for believers of Messiah.
His followers were Baptized, and you will see this later in this article.

These are two clear verses that say Baptism is essential to enter the Kingdom of Heaven!

John 3:5  Yeshua answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of Elohim.

Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

What Does Baptism Mean?

Baptism
Greek 907
βαπτίζω
baptizō
bap-tid'-zo
From a derivative of G911; to make whelmed (that is, fully wet); used only (in the New Testament) of ceremonial ablution, especially (technically) of the ordinance of Christian baptism: - baptist, baptize, wash.

"to be fully wet" or in another words is

What is Baptism All About?

Romans 6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Yeshua  Messiah were baptized into his death?

By being Baptized into his death, it shows us the importance of Baptism.

Galatians 3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Messiah have put on Messiah.
By being baptized into Messiah we put on Messiah
  This is important because...

1 Corinthians 15:53  For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality

This is why it is so important that we put on Yeshua . By doing so in a spiritual sense we put on incorruptible, and immortality over over bodies, minds, and spirits, so that we too become
incorruptible.

Matthew 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit, and with fire:

The word "Fire" in the Greek means:
Greek 4442
πῦρ
pur
poor
A primary word; “fire” (literally or figuratively, specifically lightning): - fiery, fire.
On fire figuratively, fire represents to be purged, made clean, and pure.

John 1:33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Spirit.

John Baptized with water, but Yeshua  Baptized with the Holy Spirit.

Mark 16:15 And He said to them, Go into all the world, proclaim the gospel to all the creation.
Mark 16:16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved, but he who does not believe will be condemned.
This is the only verse that sounds like it is linked to salvation, however take notice to the word "believes" and then it says "and is baptized" will be saved.
First a person has to be saved, and then they have to realize that they need to be baptized, just like everyone in the New Covenant.

Mark 16:15 And He said to them, Go into all the world, proclaim the gospel to all the creation.
Mark 16:16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved, but he who does not believe will be condemned.

Baptism is very important for a true follower of Messiah.
Believers need to be Baptized!

Of course their is the thief on the Cross next to Yeshua  (Jesus), and he repented at the last minute, and of course was not Baptized.
Still he was forgiven.

He certainly did not follow Messiah UNTIL that very moment.
He was certainly not a Christian by any means. At the very moment on the cross his heart changed.
Christ new it, and accepted it.

This works for "At the last minute death bed confessions"
I would not count on this working if you are a follower, and believer of Yeshua.

1
Corinthians 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

Acts 1:5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days hence.

How Should Baptism Be Performed?

This next verse is over looked because of The Command by Messiah in Matthew 28:19 has been taken to mean it is the application, when it is the prescription.

Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit:

Matthew 28:19, and
Acts 2:38 are really no different at all.

Matthew 28:19 is the Command of Yeshua
The command of what to do.

Acts 2:38 is the order.
The order is how to do it.

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said to them, Repent and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Yeshua  Messiah for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

"JP Green Interlinear Bible" in this verse says "ON THE NAME" of Yeshua
Nowhere in Acts or the Epistles is it written that anyone was ever baptized like it is written in
Matthew 28:19 in the Father, and of the Son, and of The Holy Spirit.  The scripture tell us that this formula was not used.

For example...

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent,
"REPENT" to Who? the HEAVENLY
"FATHER" of course.

and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Yeshua  Messiah
"THE SON"

for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
"HOLY SPIRIT"
Here it is the "Father" "Son" and "Holy Spirit" right here in Acts 2:38.
"Into" the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 28:19, and Acts 2:38 are one of the same! If understood, and applied correctly.

The E. W. Bullinger Companion Bible states that it should be "into" which means your entering something.
The Jay P. Green Sr. Interlinear Bible says the same thing. "into"
Why is the word "into" so important? The reason being is because you are entering something. It is an agreement between you, and Yehowah it is like another vow, just like a marriage vow.

Romans 6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Yeshua  Messiah were baptized into his death?
KJV

Acts 19:5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Master Yeshua .
KJV
JP Green Interlinear Bible proves that this verse should read this way "INTO" the name.
The word "into means "entering"  Like you are entering something.

Galatians 3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Messiah have put on Messiah.
KJV
The KJV got it right here "INTO" Once again you are "entering"  Christ we are putting on the faith of Christ.

More Verses About Baptizing in Messiah's Name

Act 8:16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Master (Lord) Yeshua .)

Acts 10:48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Master. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

Acts 19:5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Master Yeshua .

Acts 22:16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Master.

Romans 6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Yeshua  Messiah were baptized into his death?

Galatians 3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Messiah have put on Messiah.

So we see that there are many more verses proving that it should be done in Messiah's name.
"His Name" not a generic Greek, Latin, English Hellenized name, rather "His name" which clearly indicates His original Hebrew Name Yeshua , not a translation of a translation that the Greeks, and English people gave Him which is Iesous, Isa or Jesus, nor anything else except Yeshua .
The name that the Heavnly Father gave to him.

Why Should Baptism Be Done?

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Yeshua  Messiah for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
KJV

"receive the gift of the Holy Spirit"  We need his Holy Spirit in us so we may have eternal life.

Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Yeshua  from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
KJV
We need the Holy Spirit in us to be in the first Resurrection (first fruits)

2 Timothy 1:14 That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Spirit which dwelleth in us.
KJV
It is very clear here, in this verse that the Holy Spirit can dwell in us if we are believers of Messiah.
We do it so we can have the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Conclusion

Baptism means to be immersed (get fully wet, and go under)

Simply put we are to follow Yeshua 's (Jesus) example of obedience. It is an out ward sign showing our faith in Yeshua . It also show that we enter into His death, and are covered with eternal life.

It should be performed into the name of Messiah
Still it is alright do it into the name of the Father, and  of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Since both are Scripture, Scripture cannot be broken!

To receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, and to be obedient to Messiah, by following his example.
Mark 8:34 And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

Sense this is a very important topic, and sense the scripture would seem to indicate, at least two different ways of doing a Baptism.
Even though
Matthew 28:19, and Acts 2:38 are basically one of the same.
Matthew 28:19, is the prescription, and Acts 2:38 is the application.

It should be done "into the name of Yeshua " just has the apostles performed it. However it can be done into the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit at the same time.
